Welcome Visitors!

If you're a local, you've passed us dozens of times. You know...the round brick church on the corner of "H" and 53rd with the big stained glass windows. Or...the round brick church with the nursery school in the back...or the church with the big brick room where I go to vote! Yes. That's the church. That's Central!

If you've never ventured off of 99 and always kept driving, well, maybe you should take the scenic route across SacTown. This centrally located, property in East Sacramento, is home of a historic Methodist Congregation that's been around for over 150 years. Surrounded by 3 hospitals, close to great restaurants and a popular coffee house while also near the Food Cooperative, the neighborhood is in the midst of transition - full of young families and college students with grandparents all around.

But, while the setting, and the building and the history are great, they're not what make Central United Methodist Church worth visiting.

It's the people.

It's how God is active and real in their lives.

It's how God's Spirit pulls them together into a unique, warm, authentic family.

Our passion is connecting people to God and to each other.

Covenant Prayer

From John Wesley's Covenant Service, 1780

I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
exalted for thee or brought low for thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things
to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made on earth let
it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
